About the Painting
Day after day, year after year, the tides roll away on this beach, in a pattern introduced once and forever. We are fortunate, in those brief moments of contemplation, to appreciate the tempo of our lives slowing down to that of nature around. The blue sky and turquoise-coloured water correspond with the clarity of mind and ability to observe the waves, letting the wind carry away the worries. The rocks look reddish in the sun and serve as small islands keeping me grounded on the shore. The stillness is blissful.
About The Artist
Marina Strijakova is a Russian born artist whose career was based on painting flora and animals until she set foot on Australian land. The mother-of-three developed extreme love for Australian nature, diversity, and interdependency.
Her love for nature is incorporated into her unique style of art through a combination of Millenia Chinese calligraphy brush strokes and western painting techniques. Marina uses numerous mediums including impasto, modelling paste, heavy gel and gesso, to add texture to her masterpieces. To add more depth to the pieces, she adds ink, acrylic and oil paints to add multi-layered colors and shades.
De Gillett, Rhonda Gray, Alexander Maranov, Amanda Krantz are her artistic influencers.
