About the Artist
Although Helen grew up in Australia and her art has been influenced from an early age by her Russian background, particularly illustrations inspired by Slavic mythology and which has showed in a number of her artworks depicting a story. Helen’s love of travel from an early age to various parts of the world, visiting galleries and museums has exposed her to incredible artworks and experiences which have all had some influence on her works.
Having studied art at college and also completing a three year photographic course while working in the industry, has honed her eye for composition and colour. Travels to exotic countries such as Mexico, South America, Japan, Indonesia and Morocco amongst many others, has increased Helen’s love of colour and vibrancy in her paintings. Her subject matter is varied, dynamic and interesting and always evolving, from still life’s with objects and materials collected from her various travels, to her love of observing people from around the world and absorbing different cultures from overseas, to the landscapes of her beloved adopted
